Find Any Tuition Centres and Enrichment Classes

Rochester Mall doesn’t look like most of the malls on this site. It’s a three-storey, open-air building tucked into one-north, next door to the conserved black-and-white bungalows of Rochester Park, and it leans more toward F&B and lifestyle tenants than big retail. Underneath that, though, it’s quietly built up a genuine cluster of tuition and enrichment centres — useful if you’re one of the families or NUS/one-north-adjacent households in the area.

We checked every listing tagged to this address against its actual coordinates rather than trusting the category label alone, and swept the wider dataset by distance to make sure nothing nearby got missed. Five centres came back genuinely on-site at 35 Rochester Drive — the next-closest result was over 400 metres away at one-north Gateway, clearly a separate building, so it didn’t make this list. Here’s what each of the five offers.

The Learning Lab (Rochester Mall)

1. The Learning Lab (Rochester Mall)

Address: Rochester Mall, 35 Rochester Drive, #02-26 to 35, Singapore 138639
Phone: +65 6733 8711 | Website: thelearninglab.com.sg

This branch opened in 2012, which makes it one of the longer-standing tenants in the mall. The Learning Lab runs its own “TLL Method”: classrooms are set up like a boardroom rather than rows of desks, meant to get kids actually talking and debating instead of just listening, and every handout is written in-house by a curriculum team of more than 50 specialists. The material leans on real-world hooks — dissecting the “anatomy” of bubble tea for a Science lesson, or the politics of the Olympics for English — rather than working straight off a textbook. It’s not the cheapest option on this list, but the pitch is a curriculum built ahead of the school syllabus, not just alongside it.

  • Primary: English, Math, Science
  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Elementary Math, English, Math, Physics, Science

Zenith Education Studio (Buona Vista)

Address: 35 Rochester Drive (Rochester Mall) #03-22, #02-23/24, Singapore 138639
Phone: +65 8768 7651 | Website: zenitheducationstudio.com

Zenith is the only centre in this cluster that teaches all the way to JC, which matters if you’d rather not switch tuition providers when a child moves from secondary school into junior college. It’s MOE-registered and says it has taught more than 20,000 students since 2019, and publishes its own track record: roughly two-thirds of students scoring A grades at A-level, over 90% getting A or B, and 80% scoring A at O-level. Lessons are built around active, discussion-based teaching rather than one-way lecturing. A free trial is offered, so it’s easy enough to sit in on a class before committing.

  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Elementary Math, English, Math, Physics, Science
  • JC: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, General Paper, Mathematics, Physics

Aspire Hub (Rochester Mall)

3. Aspire Hub (Rochester Mall)

Address: 35 Rochester Drive, Rochester Mall, #02-08, Singapore 138639
Phone: +65 8779 5119 | Website: aspirehub.com

Aspire Hub only teaches secondary school here, and it draws a clear line between what it does and a standard content-delivery tuition class. Its own framework — Diagnose, Clarify, Structure, Strengthen, Elevate — is built around finding where a student’s specific gaps are before teaching to them, rather than running through the syllabus topic by topic regardless of who’s in the room. Lessons include timed exercises meant to simulate actual exam conditions, and teachers are full-time staff who go through in-house training rather than freelance tutors.

  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Elementary Math, English, Math, Physics, Science
  • No trial class currently listed

Chengzhu Mandarin Education Centre (Rochester Mall)

4. Chengzhu Mandarin Education Centre (Rochester Mall)

Address: 35 Rochester Drive #03-01 Rochester Mall, Singapore 138639
Phone: +65 6737 5348 | Website: chengzhu.edu.sg

Chengzhu is a Mandarin specialist, founded by Julia Gabriel, and its whole approach is built around a proprietary method it calls EduDrama® — teaching the language through storytelling, role-play and drama rather than vocabulary lists and grammar drills. Teachers are trained in Chinese performing arts (music, dance, performance) and are expected to adapt to how each child responds, rather than running one fixed script for the whole class. There’s a free trial class if you want to see how a lesson actually runs before signing up.

LCentral (Buona Vista)

5. LCentral (Buona Vista)

Address: 35 Rochester Drive, #02-15, Singapore 138639
Phone: +65 9675 8841 | Website: lcentral.net

LCentral has been running its English programmes since 2008 and sticks to English only — no Math, no Science, no Chinese. Its “360 Teaching Method” pairs a learner-centred classroom with a “smart digital classroom” set-up, and the actual teaching sequence starts with the basics: phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, then reading comprehension, building up rather than assuming a child already has the foundations. A free trial class is available if you want to gauge fit before enrolling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all five of these tuition centres actually inside Rochester Mall?

Yes — The Learning Lab, Zenith Education Studio, Aspire Hub, Chengzhu Mandarin Education Centre, and LCentral are all located within Rochester Mall at 35 Rochester Drive. We checked coordinates for every listing tagged to this area rather than trusting the site’s own category label, and the next-nearest tuition centre outside this building is over 400 metres away — a separate address, not a walkable extension of the mall.

Is there a centre here that teaches JC subjects?

Zenith Education Studio is the only one on this list that goes up to JC, covering Biology, Chemistry, Economics, General Paper, Mathematics, and Physics, alongside its secondary and primary classes.

Is there a Mandarin specialist at Rochester Mall?

Yes — Chengzhu Mandarin Education Centre focuses solely on Chinese, from preschool through primary, using its EduDrama® method built around storytelling and role-play rather than rote memorisation.

Which of these centres offer a free trial class?

Zenith Education Studio, Chengzhu Mandarin Education Centre, and LCentral all currently list a free trial class. The Learning Lab and Aspire Hub don’t list one — worth calling ahead to ask about a placement assessment instead, since availability can change.

Why is Aspire Hub’s profile page listed under “Marine Parade” instead of “Queenstown”?

That’s a category tag on our own site, not a reflection of where the centre actually is — Aspire Hub’s Rochester Mall branch is confirmed at 35 Rochester Drive, in the same building as the other four centres on this list. We’re flagging the mismatch rather than quietly fixing it in this article.

How do I get to Rochester Mall without driving?

Take the East-West Line or Circle Line to Buona Vista MRT (EW21/CC22), then walk roughly 400 metres — about 5 minutes — via Exit D, or through the sheltered link to The Star Vista and across Vista Exchange Green.

About Rochester Mall

Rochester Mall is part of “The Rochester,” a mixed-use development along North Buona Vista Road that also includes a condominium tower and the Park Avenue Rochester hotel, completed in 2011. It sits right beside Rochester Park — a cluster of black-and-white bungalows built in the 1940s to house British military families from the nearby Pasir Panjang Military Complex. Those bungalows are preserved under URA conservation guidelines and now house their own separate run of F&B and lifestyle tenants, distinct from the newer mall building itself.

The mall itself is three storeys and open-concept rather than a fully enclosed, air-conditioned building — worth knowing if you’re used to a typical heartland mall. It holds around 30 tenants in total, weighted toward F&B (Starbucks, Cali, Picotin Express, Otter Pizza, Ji De Chi Dessert, and others) and lifestyle/fitness operators (Anytime Fitness, REVL Training), alongside its “School and Enrichment Centre” tenant category, which is where all five tuition centres on this list sit. There’s no supermarket, library, or playground on site, so this isn’t a mall built around a family day out — it’s more of a convenient stop for a lesson on the way to or from somewhere else in one-north.

Getting to Rochester Mall: MRT & parking

By MRT: Buona Vista MRT (EW21/CC22, East-West and Circle Lines) is the nearest station, about 400 metres away. Exit D leads there directly in around 4 minutes; alternatively, Exit A or C connects via a sheltered walkway to The Star Vista, from where it’s a further short walk across Vista Exchange Green.

By bus: Along North Buona Vista Road, services 74, 91, 92, 95, 191, 196, 198 and 200 stop nearby. Along Commonwealth Avenue, services NR5, NR8, 32, 74, 74E, 91, 95, 100, 105, 106, 111, 145, 147, 185, 191, 196, 198 and 200 all serve the area.

By car: There are two drop-off points, via Rochester Park or Vista Exchange Green. Parking is $1.70 for the first hour, then $0.85 per subsequent 30 minutes (or part thereof), with a 10-minute grace period — the same rate applies every day of the week. Motorcycles are charged $2.00 per entry. For a typical 1.5-hour lesson, budget around $2.55; for a 2-hour block, around $3.40.

Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Queenstown tuition centres for more options.
