Katong V is the small Far East Organization mall at 30 East Coast Road, tucked between the bigger Parkway Parade and i12 Katong developments and topped by the Village Hotel Katong. It’s not a big mall, and it doesn’t try to be — but it does have a handful of tuition and enrichment centres worth knowing about if you live or drop your kids off nearby.
We swept every tuition centre listed within Katong V’s own units, rather than the wider Marine Parade cluster — Parkway Parade, Roxy Square, and i12 Katong are all a few minutes’ walk away and covered in their own guides. Here are the three genuinely inside Katong V.

1. Kumon (Katong V)
Address: 30 East Coast Road, Katong V #03-21, Singapore 428751
Phone: +65 8815 2900 | Website: sg.kumonglobal.com
Kumon’s whole method rests on finding a student’s “just-right” level — not so easy it’s boring, not so hard it stalls them — and then letting them work through it independently with instructor support rather than direct teaching. It’s a self-paced worksheet system, so a strong student can work ahead of their school grade, which is part of why parents use it for both catch-up and stretch. English and Math are both on offer here, from preschool right through to secondary-level Additional Math.
- Preschool: English, Math
- Primary: English, Math
- Secondary: Additional Math, Elementary Math, English, Math
Note: the address on file for this branch has been corrected to the Katong V unit above — an old excerpt in our system still referenced a Kallang address left over from a previous listing update.

2. Gifted and Talented Education Centre (Katong Village)
Address: 30 East Coast Road #02-22/23/24/25/26, Singapore 428751
Phone: +65 9278 3343 | Website: gifted-school.com
This is the one centre on the list built specifically around high-ability learners rather than general tuition. Gifted and Talented Education Centre runs a “High Ability Class” for children aged 4 to 12 and supports DSA Talent Programme applications, alongside holiday camps and a “Write a Book” enrichment track. The centre states more than 80% of its students are admitted to top IP schools and over half go on to gifted programmes locally or overseas — worth a look specifically if your child is already ahead of their cohort and the standard primary syllabus isn’t stretching them. No trial class is currently offered, so an enquiry call is the way in.
- Primary: English, Math, Science

3. PlayFACTO School (Katong)
Address: Katong V, 30 East Coast Road #03-15, Singapore 428751
Phone: +65 9773 4336 | Website: playfactoschool.com.sg
PlayFACTO’s Creative Math programme is built around manipulatives, storytelling, and social interaction rather than worksheets, aimed at children as young as 3. Its Coding & Robotics track picks up from around age 6, using MODI IoT kits and VEX Robotics to teach computational thinking rather than abstract coding theory. There’s also a Chinese enrichment track run in partnership with JIANG Education. It’s a reasonable pick if you want something that reads as play rather than extra school for a younger child. No trial class is currently offered.
- Preschool: Math, Robotics
- Primary: Chinese, Math

Frequently Asked Questions
How many tuition centres are actually inside Katong V?
Three on tuitioncentres.sg’s directory: Kumon, Gifted and Talented Education Centre, and PlayFACTO School, all on Level 3 (Kumon and PlayFACTO) or Level 2 (Gifted and Talented). Bigger malls nearby — Parkway Parade, i12 Katong, and Roxy Square — each have their own separate, larger clusters, which is why this list stays short and specific to Katong V itself.
Is there a Chinese-language option at Katong V?
PlayFACTO School offers a Primary Chinese enrichment track run with JIANG Education. There’s no dedicated Chinese-only specialist inside Katong V itself.
Which centre suits a younger child best?
PlayFACTO School is the most preschool-oriented, with Creative Math from age 3 and Coding & Robotics from around age 6. Kumon also takes preschoolers for English and Math on its self-paced worksheet system.
Is there anything here for a high-ability or gifted child?
Gifted and Talented Education Centre specifically runs a High Ability Class for ages 4 to 12 and supports DSA Talent Programme applications — the other two centres here are general-academic or enrichment-focused rather than gifted-track.
Do any of these offer a trial class?
Not currently — none of the three centres on this list has a trial class listed. Contact them directly to ask about a placement or assessment lesson instead.
What about tuition centres just outside Katong V?
Parkway Parade, Roxy Square, i12 Katong, and Katong Shopping Centre are all a short walk away along East Coast Road / Marine Parade Road and have their own, larger clusters of tuition centres — worth a look if the Katong V options here don’t fit what you need.
About Katong V
Katong V opened in 2011 at 30 East Coast Road, built and managed by Far East Organization. It’s a compact three-storey retail podium — around 30,000 sq ft of net lettable area — sitting beneath the 12-storey, 230-room Village Hotel Katong. The mall leans into the neighbourhood’s Peranakan heritage in its branding and fit-out, and its tenant mix is deliberately local: NTUC FairPrice anchors the basement for groceries, with the rest of the mall filled out by cafes, a handful of restaurants, beauty and wellness outlets, a family clinic, and a small cluster of enrichment centres on the third floor.
A few things worth knowing if you’re planning a tuition run here:
- NTUC FairPrice on the basement level, useful for groceries before or after a lesson.
- Third-floor enrichment cluster — the tuition and enrichment centres here (Kumon, PlayFACTO, Gifted and Talented Education Centre, plus a music school and a chess enrichment outfit) sit within a few doors of each other on Level 3, so it’s realistic to sit in a cafe on the ground floor and pick up more than one child in a single trip.
- Amber Family Clinic is also on Level 3, handy if a sniffle turns up mid-lesson.

For a typical one-hour lesson, that’s roughly S$1.64 in parking; stretch it to 1.5 hours and it’s closer to S$2.46.
