Find Any Tuition Centres and Enrichment Classes

Roxy Square is one of the older shopping centres in the Katong/Marine Parade stretch of East Coast Road — the kind of place with a hair salon on every corridor, a basement food court, and a handful of tuition centres tucked between the two. It doesn’t get the same attention as the newer malls further down the road, but it’s sat directly above Marine Parade MRT station for years, which makes it an easy stop for a lesson on the way home from school.

We swept every listing in our database within walking distance of Roxy Square and found six tuition centres actually inside the complex — split between the original Roxy Square block and Roxy Square II next door. We didn’t pad this out with centres from Parkway Parade, i12 Katong, or Katong V down the road; those are a separate walk and get their own write-ups. Here’s what’s on-site.

Address: 50 East Coast Road, #02-46, Roxy Square 1, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 8699 5629 | Website: inspire-edu.sg

Inspire builds its lessons around the MOE syllabus but pushes past straight content drilling — tutors are expected to develop students’ memory, organisation, and analytical skills alongside the subject matter, and to prompt discussion rather than just deliver answers. Teachers are screened on verified degrees and prior classroom experience before they’re brought on. It covers the widest span of any centre on this list, running from primary right through to JC.

  • Primary: Chinese, English, Math, Science
  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Elementary Math, English, Geography, History, Math, Physics, Science
  • JC: Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Economics, General Paper, Geography, History, Mathematics, Physics, Principles of Accounting

Focus Education Centre

2. Focus Education Centre

Address: 50 East Coast Road, Roxy Square, #02-140, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 8951 6170 | Website: focuseducation.com.sg

Focus has been running since 2006, and this Roxy Square unit was its first branch. Class sizes are kept deliberately small so tutors can track individual weak spots rather than teach to the middle of the room, and the centre puts a fair amount of weight on the parent–tutor relationship as part of keeping a student motivated, not just the lesson content itself.

  • Primary: English, Math, Science
  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Elementary Math, English, Math, Physics, Science
  • Free trial class available

Econsactually Learning Centre (Marine Parade Central)

3. Econsactually Learning Centre (Marine Parade Central)

Address: 50 East Coast Road, Roxy Square Shopping Centre, #01-45, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 9337 3874 | Website: econsactually.com

This one’s a straight Economics specialist for JC students, run by Clive Foo, who has a first-class Economics degree from NUS and has been tutoring the subject for over a decade. Classes are small groups working through structured notes and case-study/essay practice aimed squarely at exam technique, and Foo keeps an open WhatsApp/email line for questions between lessons rather than confining help to class time.

Bumblebee Language Centre

4. Bumblebee Language Centre

Address: 50 East Coast Road, Roxy Square II, #02-139, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 9650 1777 | Website: bumblebeechinese.com

Bumblebee (棒棒笔教育中心) is a Chinese-language specialist rather than a general tuition centre, aiming for lessons that feel practical and interesting enough that kids don’t dread going — useful if the goal is building genuine interest in Mandarin rather than just passing the next school test. It’s also the only centre on this list that starts at preschool age.

Atutors Learning Centre

5. Atutors Learning Centre

Address: 50 East Coast Road, #01-45, Roxy Square Shopping Centre, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 8484 9990 | Website: atutorslearningcentre.com

Atutors is one of the newer arrivals here, founded in 2024, aiming specifically at JC and upper secondary Math and Science. Groups are kept small (up to around 6 students), and the tutor line-up deliberately mixes experienced teachers with tutors who went through the current exam system more recently — the pitch being that recent grads remember what actually trips students up in today’s papers.

  • Secondary: Additional Math, Biology, Chemistry, Elementary Math, Geography, Math, Physics, Science
  • JC: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics
  • No trial class available — enquire directly

The Math Classroom (Roxy Square Shopping Centre)

6. The Math Classroom (Roxy Square Shopping Centre)

Address: 50 East Coast Road, #02-22, Singapore 428769
Phone: +65 9678 9315 | Website: themathclassroom.com.sg

As the name suggests, this one’s Math only — but it runs two separate tracks rather than one blended class: a school-syllabus stream for PSLE and secondary Math, and a competition-math stream with Olympiad training for students chasing that instead. Worth a look specifically if your child needs Math and nothing else, or wants the competition track most general tuition centres don’t offer.

  • Primary: Math
  • Secondary: Additional Math, Elementary Math, Math
  • Paid trial class available

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all these centres actually inside Roxy Square?

Yes — all six are inside the Roxy Square complex, split across the original Roxy Square block and Roxy Square II next door, all reachable without leaving the building. Centres at Parkway Parade, i12 Katong, Katong V, and other nearby malls are a separate walk and aren’t included here.

Which tuition centre at Roxy Square is best for young children?

Bumblebee Language Centre is the only one on this list that takes preschool-age students, and it’s Chinese-specific. The rest start from primary level.

Is there an Economics specialist at Roxy Square?

Yes — Econsactually Learning Centre focuses solely on JC Economics, run by a tutor with a first-class NUS Economics degree.

Which centre is best for Math tuition at Roxy Square?

The Math Classroom is the dedicated Math specialist, with separate school-syllabus and competition-math tracks. Atutors also covers Math at secondary/JC level alongside Science subjects.

Do these centres offer trial classes?

Focus Education Centre offers a free trial class, and The Math Classroom offers a paid trial. The other four don’t currently list a trial class — contact them directly to ask about a placement assessment instead.

How do I get to Roxy Square without a car?

Marine Parade MRT station (TE26, Thomson-East Coast Line) connects directly into Roxy Square via Exit 2 — there’s no road crossing involved. A wide range of bus services along East Coast Road/Marine Parade Road also stop right outside.

About Roxy Square

Roxy Square sits at 50 East Coast Road, on the site once occupied by the old Roxy Cinema, which opened at the junction of East Coast Road and Brooke Road back in 1931 and was a Katong landmark for decades before it made way for redevelopment. The current Roxy Square complex — comprising Roxy Square and the adjoining Roxy Square II, plus the 576-room Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel — was built in phases from the early 1980s through to 2000, and today holds 296 shop units and 26 residential apartments across a freehold site with frontage on three roads: East Coast Road, Marine Parade Road, and Brooke Road.

It’s also where the original Janggut Laksa stall operates from, one of the contenders in Katong’s long-running “who invented Katong laksa” debate — worth knowing if you’re waiting around during a lesson and want something to eat.

One thing to flag for parents planning ahead: Roxy Square has been through more than one attempt at a collective (en bloc) sale. An initial tender at $1.25 billion in September 2024 drew no bids; owners relaunched at a reduced $1.115 billion in January 2025, with the tender closing that February. Nothing has been finalised as of this writing, so the centres below are trading as normal — but it’s the kind of ageing-mall situation where a sale, if it eventually goes through, would take years to actually displace tenants.

Getting to Roxy Square: MRT & parking

By MRT: Marine Parade station (TE26) on the Thomson-East Coast Line sits right at the complex, with a direct underground connection — Exit 2 brings you up practically inside Roxy Square, so there’s no road to cross.

By bus: The stretch of East Coast Road/Marine Parade Road outside Roxy Square is served by a wide spread of services, including 10, 12, 14, 15, 31, 32, 36, 40, 43, 48, 134, 135, 196, 197, and 966.

By car: Roxy Square’s carpark entrance is off East Coast Road. Rates are metered around the clock:

  • 7am–6pm: first 30 minutes $0.60, then $0.70 per subsequent 30 minutes.
  • 6pm–12am: flat $2.50 per entry.
  • 12am–7am: $0.70 per 30 minutes throughout.

For a typical 1–1.5 hour lesson dropped off during the day, budget roughly $1.30–$2.00 in parking.

Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Marine Parade tuition centres for more options.
