About Century Square
Century Square (2 Tampines Central 5, Singapore 529509) opened in July 1995 and was officially inaugurated on 25 November 1995 by then-Minister for Home Affairs Wong Kan Seng, with 63 tenants at launch. It was developed by First Capital Corporation Ltd, now part of GuocoLand, and was one of the first two shopping malls to open in Tampines — Tampines Mall followed later the same year.
The mall has changed hands and changed shape a few times since. In 2007 its original Metro department store closed and was replaced by BHG, and the mall leaned into a ladies’-focused retail mix for a period. A more thorough S$60 million refurbishment ran from late 2017 through to a reopening on 6 June 2018, updating the facade and interior layout and bringing the store count to 218. Frasers Centrepoint Trust acquired the property in 2020 and still manages it today. At around 200,000 sq ft of net lettable area across six levels, with 308 parking lots over two basement levels, it’s a mid-sized mall rather than a mega one — easy enough to navigate without a map.
