Find Any Tuition Centres and Enrichment Classes

Northpoint City is the biggest mall in the north of Singapore, and it’s built right into Yishun’s main transport hub — MRT, bus interchange, library, all under one roof. That makes it the obvious after-school stop for families across Yishun, Khatib, and Chong Pang, and it’s grown a real cluster of tuition and enrichment centres across both its wings.

We swept every listing within Northpoint City itself — North Wing and South Wing — and left out anything that’s merely nearby but in a separate building (more on that below). That leaves an honest seven centres genuinely on-site. Here’s what each one offers.

Stalford has been running since 1998 and now covers over 120 courses from preschool through junior college across 21 centres near MRT stations islandwide. My English School (Yishun/Northpoint)

5. My English School (Yishun/Northpoint)

Address: Northpoint City #02-163, South Wing, 1 Northpoint Drive, Singapore 768019
Phone: +65 6817 8377 | Website: myenglish.com.sg

My English School groups children by ability rather than age or school year, so a student can move up mid-year once they hit the required learning outcomes instead of waiting for the next term. Its reading programme draws on Rudolf Flesch’s phonics-based approach and covers phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension — the same five pillars the US Department of Education’s Reading First programme is built around — while the primary track follows a spiral curriculum mapped to MOE’s English syllabus and PSLE format.

Phone: +65 8661 0334 | Website: berriesworld.com

Berries is a Chinese-language specialist for preschool and primary students, running across 20-plus outlets islandwide. It goes beyond the MOE Chinese syllabus rather than teaching strictly to it, with lessons built to build cultural appreciation for the language alongside exam skills — the centre publicises strong 2025 PSLE Chinese results, including at the Higher Chinese level, as evidence its approach translates to results.

Phone: +65 8811 1445 | Website: edufirst.com.sg

EduFirst runs small groups of 4 to 8 students, which it says is what lets tutors work closely enough with each child to target specific strengths and weaknesses rather than teaching to the middle of a bigger class. It covers the full academic range from pre-primary through Secondary 4, across English, Math, Science, and Chinese, with both in-person and online options if a family needs the flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all these tuition centres actually inside Northpoint City?

Yes. Four are in the North Wing (930 Yishun Avenue 2) — Yu Cai, Writers’ Guild, Stalford, and AGrader — and three are in the South Wing (1 Northpoint Drive) — My English School, Berries World of Learning, and EduFirst. We left out a listing tagged to “Yishun Town Square,” a separate, much smaller building at 3 Northpoint Drive that isn’t part of the Northpoint City complex despite the shared street name.

Which tuition centre near Northpoint City is best for young children?

My English School focuses specifically on preschool phonics and early reading, with ability-based grouping rather than age-based classes. Stalford, AGrader, and EduFirst also run preschool programmes covering English, Math, and Chinese for the same age group.

Is there a Chinese-language specialist at Northpoint City?

Two: Yu Cai Education Centre (North Wing) and Berries World of Learning School (South Wing), both covering preschool through primary — Yu Cai also extends to secondary level.

Which centre is best for English or creative writing?

Writers’ Guild Learning Centre specialises specifically in English and creative writing for primary and secondary students. My English School and EduFirst also teach English as part of a broader subject range.

Do these centres offer trial classes?

Yu Cai Education Centre and My English School currently offer free trial classes. Writers’ Guild and Berries World of Learning do not — contact them directly to ask about a placement assessment instead. Trial availability can change, so it’s worth confirming with any centre before booking.

Are there other tuition or enrichment options at Northpoint City not listed here?

Possibly — third-party directories list a few additional names at Northpoint City (an English enrichment centre, a coding school, a mental arithmetic centre, and a Music school) that don’t yet have listings on this site. If you run one of these and want to be included, get in touch.

About Northpoint City

Northpoint City started out as Northpoint Shopping Centre, which opened in November 1992 as the first suburban mall built in Singapore’s northern heartlands. It was renamed Northpoint City in July 2017 as part of a major redevelopment, and the new South Wing — built on the former Yishun 10 site at 1 Northpoint Drive — opened its retail floors on 18 December 2017. The original building at 930 Yishun Avenue 2 became the North Wing, and the two are linked by an underground garden at basement level.

Combined, the two wings hold over 400 shops and F&B outlets across roughly 531,500 sq ft of net lettable area, spread over 7 floors — Frasers Centrepoint Trust, which owns the mall, calls it the largest mall in Singapore’s North Region and one of the ten largest suburban malls in the country. UNIQLO, Harvey Norman, Popular Bookstore, BreadTalk, and an NTUC FairPrice anchor the retail mix.

A few things make it especially convenient for a tuition run:

  • Yishun Public Library — on Level 4 of the North Wing, useful for a sibling to wait or do homework while a lesson runs.
  • Nee Soon Central Community Club — also integrated into the complex.
  • Yishun Integrated Transport Hub — the MRT station and bus interchange sit directly under the South Wing, so drop-off doesn’t mean crossing a road.
  • NTUC FairPrice and a full F&B spread — for parents running errands or grabbing dinner between pick-ups.

One thing worth flagging: there’s a separate building called Yishun Town Square at 3 Northpoint Drive, right across from the South Wing. It’s a much smaller commercial block (Burger King and a couple of other shops, by our check) and isn’t part of the Northpoint City complex, despite sharing a road name and sitting a few hundred metres away. We’ve kept this list to centres genuinely inside Northpoint City’s own two wings.

Getting to Northpoint City: MRT & parking

By MRT: Take the North-South Line to Yishun Station (NS13). Exit E leads through an underpass beneath Yishun Avenue 2 straight into Basement 2 of the North Wing. Exit D uses the newer Northpoint Link — a wider underpass with escalators and a lift — into Basement 2 of the South Wing. Both are fully sheltered, so no need to surface at all.

By bus: The Yishun Integrated Transport Hub is built into the South Wing and North Park Residences above it, and connects to the MRT via the same Basement 2 underpass. It opened on 8 September 2019 as Singapore’s tenth air-conditioned interchange and currently handles around 27 services, including trunk routes 39, 85, 103, 171, and the 851–859 group, plus a run of feeder services (800-series) into the surrounding estate.

By car: Northpoint City has basement and multi-storey parking under both wings, accessible from Yishun Avenue 2 and Northpoint Drive. Rates (as listed by third-party parking aggregators — confirm current pricing on-site, since these can change): weekdays around S$1.40 for the first hour and S$0.80 per subsequent half-hour, slightly higher on weekends and public holidays. For a typical 1–1.5 hour lesson block, budget roughly S$1.40–S$2.20.

Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Yishun tuition centres for more options.
