Jurong Point is Singapore’s largest suburban mall by tenant count — more than 450 shops and F&B outlets spread across its original JP1 wing and the newer JP2 extension, sitting right on top of Boon Lay MRT station and bus interchange. With a mall this size, it would be easy to assume there’s a huge cluster of tuition centres inside. There isn’t — but the ones that are there are genuinely on-site, not scattered across the wider Jurong West neighbourhood.
We swept every tuition centre listing in our database by distance from Jurong Point’s address (1 Jurong West Central 2) rather than trusting category tags alone — several listings tagged “Jurong West” turned out to be a different building entirely, like the Frontier Community Club roughly 200m away or Kent Ridge Tuition Centre’s Block 692 branch nearly 300m off. After filtering those out, seven centres are confirmed inside JP1 or JP2 itself. We also checked against an independent tenant listing (Skoolopedia’s Jurong Point enrichment directory) — see the note at the end of this article about two real Jurong Point tenants that turned up there but aren’t in our own directory yet.

About Jurong Point
Jurong Point first opened on 7 December 1995 as a single wing (now called JP1) with 95 retailers, several of whom — including Courts, Golden Village, and NTUC FairPrice — were opening their first-ever mall outlet there. A first extension followed in December 2000, adding roughly 150,000 sq ft of space and more than 160 new tenants, including department store John Little. The bigger change came with JP2: construction began around 2006 and the new wing opened in December 2008 with 230 additional shops, alongside a new residential tower (The Centris) built above it.
Today the complex spans roughly 750,000 sq ft across nine floors (including parking) and is officially the largest shopping mall in Singapore by total number of tenants, and the largest mall in western Singapore. Anchor tenants include Golden Village cinema, Harvey Norman, Courts, John Little, Teo Heng KTV, and My First Skool childcare — plus Don Don Donki, which took over the basement space vacated when NTUC FairPrice’s Xtra outlet relocated within the mall in 2022.
A few things make it a practical stop for a tuition run specifically:
- My First Skool childcare on-site, useful if you have a younger child to drop off while an older sibling is at a lesson.
- Golden Village cinema and a large F&B spread across both wings, for filling the gap between drop-off and pick-up.
- Direct MRT and bus interchange access — you don’t need to cross a road to get from transport to the mall.
Getting to Jurong Point: MRT & parking
By MRT: Take the East-West Line (EWL) to Boon Lay Station (EW27), which opened on 2 July 1990 and connects directly into the mall. In mid-2028, Boon Lay is also due to become an interchange with the Jurong Region Line (JS8) — not live yet, but worth knowing if you’re planning around future construction in the area.
By bus: Jurong Point sits right on top of Boon Lay Bus Interchange, Singapore’s fourth air-conditioned interchange, which opened on 27 December 2009 and is integrated directly with the mall and The Centris condominium above it. It’s served by more than 30 services across three operators, including 30, 79, 154, 157, 172, 174, 178, 179, 180, 181, 187, 192, 193, 194, 198, 199, 240–252, and 405.
By car and parking: The mall’s official rate card (last updated 1 July 2024) runs on a peak/night split, with a 10-minute grace period for both cars and motorcycles:
- Weekday peak (7am–10pm): S$1.50 for the first hour, then S$0.75 per subsequent 30 minutes.
- Weekend & public holiday peak (7am–10pm): S$1.80 for the first hour, then S$0.90 per subsequent 30 minutes.
- Night rate (10pm–7am), both weekday and weekend: S$1.20 for the first hour, then S$0.60 per subsequent 30 minutes.
All rates are subject to prevailing GST. For a typical weekday lesson block, budget roughly S$1.50 for a 1-hour lesson or S$2.25 for a 1.5-hour one during peak hours — a little more on weekends.
