Punggol Plaza is the oldest shopping mall in Punggol, and it still does most of the heavy lifting for families in the estate — groceries, clinics, a wet market, and a solid cluster of tuition centres, all a short walk from Coral Edge LRT. If you’re weighing up where to send your child for extra lessons without crossing the estate, this is usually the first mall parents check.
We swept every tuition centre in our directory by distance from the mall and found six that sit inside Punggol Plaza itself, all within about 15 metres of each other by GPS coordinates (in practice, spread across Levels 2 and 4). The next-nearest listing outside the mall is over 180 metres away at a different block on Punggol Central, so we’ve kept this list to the six that are genuinely on-site. One of the six — PlayFACTO School — is a new location still opening, which we’ve flagged in its section below so you know before making a trip down. Here’s what each centre offers.

1. Kumon (Punggol Plaza)
Address: 168 Punggol Field, Punggol Plaza #02-08C, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 9346 0208 | Website: sg.kumonglobal.com
Kumon doesn’t teach in the usual sense — students work through small-step worksheets on their own, and instructors deliberately hold back the answer, guiding them toward it instead of handing it over. Each child starts at whatever level lets them score perfectly on their own, even if that’s below their school grade, and moves up from there. It’s a good fit if the goal is independent study habits rather than exam cramming, though at this branch it’s English, Math, and Chinese only — no Science.
- Preschool: Chinese, English, Math
- Primary: Chinese, English, Math
- Secondary: Chinese, English, Math, Additional Math, Elementary Math, Science

2. Mind Stretcher (Punggol)
Address: Punggol Plaza, 168 Punggol Field #04-06, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 8883 8004 | Website: mindstretcher.com
Mind Stretcher is one of the more established tuition names in Singapore, built around small class sizes — typically 6 to 8 students — and diagnostic placement, so a child is grouped by actual ability rather than just their school level. The Primary Math programme uses Singapore’s model method and heuristics, which lines up directly with PSLE-style questions, and there’s an e-learning platform parents can check in on from home. It’s one of two centres on this list covering the full range from preschool through secondary.
- Preschool: English, Math, Phonics
- Primary: Chinese, English, Math, Science
- Secondary: Chinese, English, Math, Additional Math, Elementary Math, Science, Physics, Chemistry

3. Mavis Tutorial Centre (Punggol Plaza)
Address: 168 Punggol Field #04-07, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 9170 3832 | Website: mavistutorial.com
Mavis has been around since 1986, and its lessons are structured in a fairly predictable way: nail the foundational concept first, then move into guided practice, then assessment, with tutors breaking each topic down into basic-to-advanced steps rather than jumping straight to harder questions. It’s MOE-syllabus aligned and leans on a blended-learning setup — normal classroom teaching plus digital resources students can revisit on their own. Of the six centres here, Mavis and Mind Stretcher cover the broadest subject spread, and Mavis is the only one that adds Biology at secondary level.
- Preschool: English, Math, Phonics
- Primary: Chinese, English, Math, Science
- Secondary: Chinese, English, Math, Additional Math, Elementary Math, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

4. Beijing Language School (Punggol Plaza)
Address: 168 Punggol Field, #04-08B, Punggol Plaza, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 9898 0761 | Website: beijinglanguage.com.sg
Beijing Language School has been running since 2005 and now has around ten branches across Singapore, all teaching Chinese only. The curriculum starts with the basics — strokes, Hanyu Pinyin, vocabulary, punctuation — before moving into comprehension and creative writing, with small classes so a shy reader isn’t lost in the group. If Chinese is the one subject you’re outsourcing while handling everything else at home, this is a straightforward option right in the mall.
- Subjects: Chinese, from preschool through secondary
- No trial class currently offered — enquire directly for a placement assessment

5. Justedu Learning Centre (Punggol/Punggol Plaza)
Address: 168 Punggol Field, #04-10, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 8823 8077 | Website: justedu.com.sg
Justedu started out in Jurong East back in 1999 and has since grown into a Math specialist that now also covers Primary Science, Secondary Science, and JC Mathematics — the only centre on this list that goes past secondary level. Lessons follow what the centre calls a 5 E’s framework (engage, explain, and so on), and there’s a specific push on heuristics and non-routine word problems rather than just drilling standard questions. It’s also the only centre here currently offering a free trial class.
- Preschool: English, Math
- Primary: Chinese, English, Math, Science
- Secondary: English, Math, Additional Math, Elementary Math, Science, Physics, Chemistry
- JC: Mathematics
- Free trial class available

6. PlayFACTO School (Punggol Plaza)
Address: 168 Punggol Field #04-10, Punggol Plaza, Singapore 820168
Phone: +65 9773 4336 | Website: playfactoschool.com.sg
A heads-up before this one: PlayFACTO’s own site lists its Punggol Plaza branch as opening in Q3 2026, so it may not be running lessons yet at the time you’re reading this — worth a call before making a trip down. Once open, it’ll run on PlayFACTO’s Creative Math approach, co-developed with Korean education specialists, which leans on hands-on manipulatives and storytelling rather than worksheets to build number sense in younger children. Older kids get a Coding & Robotics track. It’s the only centre on this list that skips secondary entirely, so it’s really a preschool-and-primary pick, likely paired with student care given PlayFACTO’s other branches.
- Preschool: Math, Robotics
- Primary: Chinese, Math
- No trial class currently offered

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all these tuition centres inside Punggol Plaza itself?
Yes — all six are located inside Punggol Plaza, spread across Level 2 (Kumon) and Level 4 (Mind Stretcher, Mavis, Beijing Language School, Justedu, PlayFACTO). The next-closest tuition listing in our directory is a separate block on Punggol Central, over 180 metres away, so we’ve left it off this list.
Is PlayFACTO School actually open yet?
Not necessarily — PlayFACTO’s own website lists this Punggol Plaza branch as opening in Q3 2026. It’s included here because it’s a confirmed upcoming location inside the mall, but call ahead before visiting if you’re reading this close to that date.
Which tuition centre near Punggol Plaza covers JC-level subjects?
Justedu Learning Centre is the only one on this list offering JC-level tuition (Mathematics). The other five centres top out at secondary level.
Is there a Chinese-language specialist at Punggol Plaza?
Beijing Language School specialises specifically in Chinese, from preschool through secondary. Kumon, Mind Stretcher, Mavis, and Justedu also offer Chinese as one of several subjects, and PlayFACTO offers Chinese at primary level within its broader programme.
Which centre is best for a young child just starting out?
Kumon and Mind Stretcher both run preschool English and Math, and Mavis adds Phonics to the same mix. PlayFACTO (once open) focuses on play-based Math and Robotics for younger children rather than formal lessons.
Do any of these centres offer a free trial class?
Justedu Learning Centre currently offers a free trial class. Beijing Language School and PlayFACTO School don’t offer trial classes — contact them directly about a placement assessment instead. Kumon, Mind Stretcher, and Mavis don’t list trial class availability on our directory, so check with them directly.
About Punggol Plaza
Punggol Plaza (168 Punggol Field, Singapore 820168) opened in September 2004, making it the first mall built to serve Punggol New Town — HDB developed it, and Abundance Development Pte Ltd has managed and owned it since. It’s a mid-sized neighbourhood mall: about 370,824 square feet across six floors, including two basement levels, with roughly 50 shops and three anchor tenants.
The anchor tenants tell you what this mall is really for:
- NTUC FairPrice — for the grocery run before or after a lesson.
- Koufu food court — a decent range of stalls if you’re feeding a hungry kid post-tuition.
- Punggol Plaza Wet Market — one of the few wet markets left in a Punggol mall.
There’s also a run of GP and specialist clinics on Levels 1 and 2, and dental clinics on Levels 1, 2, and 4, plus a two-storey basement carpark with car-grooming services if you want your car washed while your child is in class. As of mid-2026, Punggol Plaza is also a stop on Punggol’s new autonomous shuttle service — the West-to-East route calls at Punggol Plaza on its way to Oasis Terraces, which is a genuinely useful option if you’re coming from further inside the estate without a car.
Getting to Punggol Plaza: MRT & parking
By LRT: The mall is about a 3-minute walk from Coral Edge LRT station (PE3) on the Punggol LRT East Loop — take Exit B, which comes out directly facing Punggol Plaza. Coral Edge connects to Punggol MRT/Bus Interchange on the North East Line for anyone travelling from further out.
By bus: Punggol Field – Coral Edge Stn Exit B (Stop 65171), right by the mall, is served by Services 3, 62, 62A, 83, 381, 386, and 666. The stop on the other side at Exit A (Stop 65179) covers most of the same routes minus 62A and 386.
By car: Punggol Plaza is reachable from the Tampines Expressway (TPE) via Punggol Road, then onto Punggol Central and Punggol Field — there’s no single expressway exit that drops you right at the mall, so GPS or Waze is the easiest way in.
- Car parking: Around S$1.20 per hour (billed in 30-minute blocks of S$0.60), with a 15-minute grace period, charged daily including public holidays. We couldn’t pull this directly from the mall’s own site during this round of research — it was unreachable — so treat it as a solid estimate from two independent parking-rate trackers rather than gospel, and double-check the signage on arrival.
With the grace period factored in, budget roughly S$1.20–S$1.80 for a typical 1–1.5 hour lesson block.
Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Punggol tuition centres for more options.
