Over 1200+ Tuition Centres

Square 2 sits right on top of Novena MRT station, which makes it one of the more convenient after-school stops in the Novena area — no need to cross a road or catch a connecting bus. It’s better known for Don Don Donki, Daiso, and the medical suites upstairs, but tucked away on Level 4 is a small, genuine cluster of tuition centres.

We swept every listing within walking distance of Square 2 and kept only the ones that are actually inside the building. That means this list is short — four centres, not the padded-out “top 10” you’ll find elsewhere — but every address on it checks out. A handful of other centres cluster nearby at Royal Square at Novena and across the road at Goldhill Plaza/Goldhill Centre; we’ve flagged those separately rather than folding them into this list.

Quick Peek at Tuition Centres near Square 2

Centre Location Levels Focus
illum.e (Novena) Square 2, #04-52/54 Primary–Secondary English, Geography, History
Illum Education Centre (Novena Campus) Square 2, #04-52/54 Primary–JC English, Economics, General Paper
Mindchamps Enrichment Academy Square 2, #04-27/55 Primary Chinese, English, Math, Science

illum.e (Novena) and Illum Education Centre (Novena Campus) are two listings from the same operator at the same unit — the first covers English and Humanities up to Secondary, while the Novena Campus listing extends to JC Economics and General Paper. Worth checking with them directly on which programme fits your child’s level.

illum.e (Novena)

1. illum.e (Novena)

Address: Novena Square 2, #04-52/54, 10 Sinaran Dr, Singapore 307506
Phone: +65 8889 8705 | Website: illum.education

illum.e teaches English and Humanities around what it calls a Thinking Frames method — a step-by-step system meant to give students a way into questions they haven’t seen before, rather than relying purely on memorised model answers. For Humanities specifically, they lean on in-house notes, infographics, and mind maps to help students hold onto content across Geography and History. Tutors are either former MOE teachers or experienced hires; the centre says it accepts a small fraction of the tutors who apply.

  • Secondary: English, Geography, History

Illum Education Centre (Novena Campus)

2. Illum Education Centre (Novena Campus)

Address: Novena Square 2, #04-52/54, 10 Sinaran Dr, Singapore 307506
Phone: +65 8887 5790 | Website: illum.education

This is the same illum.e teaching approach — Thinking Frames, skills-based rather than rote — but listed separately because it’s where the brand’s JC offering sits, covering Economics and General Paper on top of English. If you’ve got a younger child on English/Humanities and an older one heading into JC, it’s worth asking whether both can be accommodated at the same unit.

  • Secondary: English
  • JC: Economics, General Paper

Mindchamps Enrichment Academy (Square 2/Novena)

3. Mindchamps Enrichment Academy (Square 2/Novena)

Address: 10 Sinaran Drive, #04-27/55, Square 2, Singapore 307506
Phone: +65 8875 8823 | Website: mindchamps.org

Mindchamps’ enrichment curriculum is built around what it calls a 3-Mind Approach, drawing on education, psychology, neuroscience, and theatre research. In practice, that shows up as its Creativity and Theatrical Strategies module, where children act out scenarios rather than just discussing them, and specialist performing-arts teachers work alongside the English and Chinese teachers to tie the drama exercises back into the actual subject content. It’s a different feel from a straight worksheet-and-drill centre — better suited to a child who responds to a more active classroom.

Wang Learning Centre (Novena Branch)

4. Wang Learning Centre (Novena Branch)

Address: 10 Sinaran Drive #04-49/50/51, Square 2, Singapore 307506
Website: wang.edu.sg (no phone number listed — enquire via website)

Wang Learning Centre is a Chinese-language specialist that keeps classes small — typically 4 to 8 students — so tutors can actually track where each child is stuck rather than teaching to the middle of a bigger group. The curriculum is built to track the MOE syllabus at each level, from preschool activities meant to build interest in the language through to secondary content that mixes exam prep with short novels and current affairs, aimed at keeping older students engaged rather than just drilling for the paper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all four of these centres actually inside Square 2?

Yes — all four are on Level 4 of Square 2 itself: illum.e and Illum Education Centre share #04-52/54, Mindchamps Enrichment Academy is at #04-27/55, and Wang Learning Centre is at #04-49/50/51. We checked every listing within walking distance of the mall and left out the ones that turned out to be in a different building — Musclemath Learning Centre, for instance, is about a 2-minute walk away at Royal Square at Novena, not inside Square 2.

Is there a Chinese-language specialist at Square 2?

Wang Learning Centre is the dedicated Chinese specialist, covering preschool through secondary. Mindchamps Enrichment Academy also teaches Chinese at the primary level, alongside English, Math, and Science.

Which centre covers JC-level subjects?

Illum Education Centre (Novena Campus) is the only one on this list offering JC subjects — Economics and General Paper.

What about tuition centres near Square 2 but not inside it?

Novena is a well-established tuition corridor — beyond Square 2, there’s a smaller cluster at Royal Square at Novena (about 2 minutes’ walk) and a larger one across Thomson Road at Goldhill Plaza and Goldhill Centre, plus several more at United Square. Those are close enough for a short walk but aren’t part of this list, which sticks to centres physically inside Square 2.

Do these centres offer trial classes?

Mindchamps Enrichment Academy, Illum Education Centre, and Wang Learning Centre currently list no trial class — contact them directly to ask about a placement assessment instead. Trial availability can change, so it’s worth confirming directly before enrolling either way.

Is there parking at Square 2, and roughly what would a lesson visit cost?

Yes — the carpark is on Levels 5 to 7. On a weekday, a 1 to 1.5 hour lesson block works out to roughly S$2.40–S$3.60 at the standard S$2.40-first-hour, S$1.20-per-30-minutes rate, with a 10-minute grace period.

About Square 2

Square 2 opened on 10 December 2007 and is developed and owned by Far East Organization. It’s a five-storey mall at 10 Sinaran Drive with over 180 specialty stores — a mix of food and beverage, fashion, education and enrichment, and beauty and wellness. Levels 8 to 11 of the same building house Novena Medical Centre, and the mall sits at the edge of HealthCity Novena, the healthcare precinct anchored by Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

A few things make it a practical pick for a tuition run specifically:

  • Direct MRT access — Square 2 is built right into Novena MRT station, so there’s no outdoor walk between the platform and the mall.
  • NTUC FairPrice — useful for a grocery run while a lesson is on.
  • Wide F&B spread — Don Don Donki’s food hall, Tunglok Teahouse, Eu Yan Sang, and a long list of casual dining options for parents killing an hour between drop-off and pick-up.
  • Medical suites in the same building — handy if a doctor’s or dentist’s appointment needs to be squeezed in around a lesson.

Getting to Square 2: MRT & parking

By MRT: Take the North-South Line to Novena Station (NS20) and use Exit A, which connects straight into Square 2 via an underground linkway and escalators — about 2 to 3 minutes from the platform, fully sheltered. Exit A also has a lift up to Tan Tock Seng Hospital if you’re combining a lesson with a medical appointment.

By bus: Along Thomson Road: services 5, 21, 54, 56, 57, 131, 143, 162, 162M, 166, 167, 851, 980, NR1. Along Moulmein Road: services 21 and 124.

By car: The address is 10 Sinaran Drive, Singapore 307506, off the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) via the Lornie Road exit. The carpark occupies Levels 5 to 7, with cashcard top-up machines on Levels 5 and 6.

  • Mon–Sat, 7am–6pm: S$2.40 for the first hour, then S$1.20 per subsequent 30 minutes.
  • Mon–Sat, 6pm–7am: S$2.73 per entry.
  • Sun/PH, 7am–6pm: S$2.40 for the first 4 hours, then S$1.20 per subsequent 30 minutes.
  • A 10-minute grace period applies.

For a typical 1–1.5 hour lesson block driving in on a weekday, budget around S$2.40–S$3.60.

Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Novena tuition centres for more options.
