Over 1200+ Tuition Centres

Compass One is one of Sengkang’s busiest malls, sitting right above Sengkang MRT and bus interchange — which makes it a natural after-school stop for families in the area. Beyond the retail and F&B, the mall and the adjoining Sengkang Community Club at Sengkang Square host a small but well-established cluster of tuition and enrichment centres.

We looked at every tuition centre within a short walk of Compass One and shortlisted the six that are genuinely on-site or right across the square — no padding the list with centres a bus ride away. Here’s what each one offers.

About Compass One

Compass One (1 Sengkang Square, Singapore 545078) opened on 1 August 2002 as Compass Point — the first major mall on the North East Line and Sengkang’s original town centre landmark. It was also Singapore’s first “learning-themed” mall: each of its levels was named after a continent, with murals and trivia panels woven into the design. That naming scheme survives today — Oceania (basement), Asia (ground floor), Europe (Level 2), The Americas (Level 3), and Africa (Level 4).

The mall underwent a full renovation between October 2015 and September 2016, reopening with a redesigned interior and its current line-up of more than 200 stores across roughly 24,000 sqm of retail space. Cold Storage and Kiddy Palace anchor the mall, alongside a wide mix of F&B, fashion, electronics, and healthcare tenants.

A few things make Compass One especially convenient for a tuition run:

  • Direct MRT/LRT and bus access — Compass One sits right above Sengkang MRT/LRT station and is connected to both Sengkang and Compassvale bus interchanges, so drop-off and pick-up don’t require crossing any roads.
  • Sengkang Public Library — a 2,136 sqm branch spanning Levels 3 and 4, useful for siblings or students to do homework or read while waiting for a lesson to end.
  • Ninja Trail play deck — a Level 4 wet-and-dry playground with 17 interactive play features for children aged 2 to 12, handy if a younger sibling is tagging along.
  • Cold Storage supermarket and a full F&B mix — for parents running errands or grabbing dinner during a lesson block.

Getting to Compass One: MRT & parking

By MRT/LRT: Take the North East Line (NEL) to Sengkang Station (NE16) and use Exit A — it leads straight into Compass One, about a 1-minute walk, fully sheltered. Sengkang is also an LRT interchange, so it’s a straightforward transfer if you’re coming from Anchorvale, Compassvale, or Rivervale on the Sengkang LRT loop.

By bus: Compass One sits at the Sengkang Bus Interchange, served by services 50, 80, 83, 86, 87, 102, 119, 156, 159, 161, 163/163M, 371, 372, and 965.

By car: From the Tampines Expressway (TPE), take Exit 10 onto Sengkang East Road, then turn left into Sengkang Square. The car park is open daily, including public holidays, from 7am to 11pm.

  • Car parking: S$1.50 for the first hour, then S$0.80 per subsequent 30 minutes — no grace period.
  • Motorcycle parking: S$1.40 per entry.
  • A S$20 surcharge applies if a vehicle is left in the car park after closing hours, so plan lesson pick-up times accordingly if you’re driving.

Given the no-grace-period policy, parents driving in for a single lesson block (typically 1–1.5 hours) should budget around S$2.30–S$3.10 for parking.

Prices, subjects, and trial class availability are updated periodically — always confirm directly with the centre before enrolling. Browse the full directory of Sengkang tuition centres for more options.
